How to fix iPhone not charging issue?

You are woken up by the alarm in the morning. You reach for your phone with sleepy eyes, but find that the battery level of your iPhone is zero and no matter how you charge it, it doesn't respond. You can't navigate on the way to work, miss calls from important customers, and your plans for the whole day are completely disrupted. I believe many friends have experienced the desperate moment of iPhone not charging. Today, let's talk about the reasons and solutions behind this.

If your device won't charge Follow these steps
Check charging accessories:
Check the charging cable: Check for any visible signs of damage, such as frayed wires, broken connectors, or bent pins. Even small breaks inside the wire can prevent proper charging. Try using a different known-good charging cable. If your iPhone Charges with a new cable, the original cable might be defective.
Check the power adapter: Check to see if the adapter is working properly. You can try plugging it into a different wall outlet. If you're using a non-Apple adapter, it might not provide enough power. If possible, use an Apple-certified power adapter. Some third-party adapters might not meet Apple's power requirements, causing charging issues.
Clean the charging port:
Over time, the Lightning port on your iPhone can collect dust, lint, or debris. Use a soft, dry, Non-metallic Brush, such as a toothbrush, to gently clean the inside of the port. Make sure not to use anything sharp that could damage the port. You can also carefully use compressed air to blow out any loose particles. If something is stuck in the port, it might prevent a proper connection with the charging cable.

Restart your iPhone:
A simple restart can often resolve software glitches that can interfere with the charging process.
For iPhone 8 or later and iPhone SE (2nd generation and later): Press and quickly release the Volume Up button, then press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Next, press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.
For iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPod touch (7th generation): Press and hold the Side (or Top) button and the Volume Down button at the same time until the Apple logo appears.
For iPhone 6s or earlier, iPhone SE (1st generation), and iPod touch (6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold the Side (or Top) button and the Home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears.

Check the charging environment:
Temperature: iPhone is designed to charge within a certain temperature range. If the device is too hot or too cold, it may not charge properly. For example, if you use your iPhone for a long time and it overheats, or if you leave it in a cold car, move it to a more temperate environment (ideally around 16-22°C) and try charging again. In hot conditions, the phone may limit charging to protect the iPhone Battery, while in cold conditions, the battery's chemical reactions slow down, which can affect charging.

Power: If you're using a computer to charge, make sure it's turned on and not in sleep or hibernation mode. Also, use a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on your computer; avoid using ports on a keyboard or USB hub, as they may not provide enough power. If you're using a wall outlet, try using a different outlet to rule out any issues with the power outlet itself.

Update your iPhone software:
Outdated versions of iOS can have bugs that cause charging issues. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check if there's an available update for your iPhone. Installing the latest software can often fix known issues related to charging and battery management.

Check battery health:
The battery in your iPhone degrades over time. You can check the battery health by going to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. If the battery's maximum capacity is significantly less than 100% (for example, less than 80%), it may cause charging issues. Severely degraded batteries may need to be replaced.

Remove all accessories: If your iPhone has a case or other accessories, remove them. Sometimes a thick or misplaced iPhone Case can interfere with the charging connection, especially if it presses on the charging port.

Restore your iPhone (as a last resort):
If all else fails, you can try restoring your iPhone to factory settings. However, this will erase all data on the device, so make sure you have a recent backup. You can restore your iPhone using iTunes or Finder on your computer. Connect your iPhone to your computer, open iTunes or Finder, select your iPhone, and then choose the Restore option.

If your iPhone still won't charge after trying all of the above steps, it could be a hardware issue, such as a faulty charging port, battery, or logic board. In this case, you should contact Apple Support or take your iPhone to an Apple Store or authorized service provider or DIY precision repair for further diagnosis and repair.

Chip-level welding repair
Fault diagnosis: Use professional circuit detection equipment to scan the electronic device iPhone Motherboard and locate the damaged chip. Use a logic analyzer to analyze the chip's input and output signals to determine whether the chip has problems such as short circuit, open circuit or abnormal function.

Chip removal: With the help of a Hot Air Gun, the temperature is accurately controlled within the chip's tolerance range, generally 350℃-420℃. At the same time, with tools such as Tweezers, carefully remove the damaged chip from the motherboard. During operation, it is necessary to ensure that the wind speed and temperature of the hot air gun are uniform and stable to avoid damage to surrounding components.

New chip installation: Place the new chip accurately at the corresponding position of the motherboard, and use reflow soldering equipment to solder according to the preset heating, constant temperature and cooling curve. In this way, ensure that the chip pins are fully and evenly connected to the motherboard pads to ensure welding quality.

Screen lamination repair
Old screen separation: For devices with damaged screens, use a Screen Separator to safely remove the broken screen from the device frame by heating and mechanical separation. The heating temperature is usually set at 80℃-120℃ to soften the glue between the screen and the frame and reduce the risk of secondary damage to the device during the separation process.

New screen bonding: Clean the bonding surface of the device frame and the new screen to remove impurities and dust. Use the OCA Bonding Machine to tightly bond the new screen to the device frame under certain pressure and temperature conditions. The bonding pressure is generally controlled at 2-5MPa and the temperature is maintained at 20℃-30℃ to ensure that the screen is firmly bonded and the display and touch functions are normal.

Data recovery
Storage media detection: Take out the storage chip of the device and use professional data recovery equipment such as PC3000, Efficiency Source, etc. to physically detect the chip to determine whether the chip has hardware damage. At the same time, analyze the file system and data structure of the chip to understand how and where the data is stored.

Data extraction: For storage chips without hardware damage, use data recovery software to scan and recover lost or damaged data according to the rules of the file system. For chips with hardware damage, chip repair technology is used, such as Flying Wires, replacing damaged parts inside the chip, etc., and data extraction is performed after the chip is repaired.
