Apple's Self Service iPhone Repair Program - iPhone 13 Repair Guide
Apple now offers self service iPhone repairs directly to consumers.
This gives users options beyond Apple and third-party repair shops. The
Self Service Repair Store lets you order genuine Apple parts and iPhone repair tools
to fix iPhones at home.
We compared DIY iPhone 13 repair costs versus taking it to an Apple
store. Parts, tools, and Apple's repair fees vary by damage type.
Renting Apple's repair kit is $49 versus buying for $1000.
Fix iPhone 13 Battery
Replacing an iPhone 13 battery yourself costs around $95 total. That
includes the $70 parts bundle, $49 tool rental, minus a $24 rebate for
returning the old battery. Apple charges $69 for the repair sans tools.
Fix iPhone 13 speaker
Fixing an iPhone 13 bottom speaker runs around $93 in parts and
tools. Apple doesn't list speaker repair pricing. For the camera, it’s
$113 in parts and tools versus $449 from Apple. The display is $285 DIY
but just $29 via AppleCare.
For skilled do-it-yourselfers, self repair can be cheaper and faster. But mistakes risk further damage without warranty coverage. Apple still recommends using its own technicians for complex iPhone repairs. Consumers now have more options to fix iPhones, but should weigh costs and skills.
