iPhone 14 Pro Teardown – We Found Apple's Hidden Design
The iPhone 14 Pro isn't as easy to repair as the other new models. If your iPhone 14 Pro screen is cracked, not responding to touch, or not showing a picture when your phone is powered on, use this guide to restore your iPhone with a new iPhone screen display assembly.
Today we're going to disassemble the iPhone 14 Pro and explore its repair tips and difficulty.
For
your safety, discharge the battery below 25% before disassembling your
device. This reduces the risk of fire if the battery is accidentally
damaged during the repair.
If possible, turn on your device and test your repair before installing new adhesive and resealing.
I . Open the iPhone
Remove the pentalobe screws, heat the bottom edge of the iPhone, and insert an opening pick.
Slice the left edge adhesive, heat
and separate the screen adhesive. Slice the right and top edge
adhesive, and open the iPhone.
II. Disconnect the battery and remove the screen
1. Unfasten the battery connector cover screws with 69-in-1 screwdriver set.
2. Remove the battery connector cover
3. Disconnect the battery
4. Disconnect the display cable
5. Remove the screen
Apple's latest iPhone 14 Pro has been enhanced in features and performance with the addition of Dynamic Island, Always on display, and a 48-megapixel camera.
After
testing, we also found the batteries of iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro are
interchangeable. Back glass repair is still challenging.

The Bottom Line
Although Apple claims to support Self Service Repair, teardown shows Apple hasn't fully embraced do-it-yourself fixes. When we took apart two iPhone Pros and swapped the Apple-installed components, the devices began to malfunction.
There
were warnings about inability to identify genuine parts, and about
degradation in automatic color correction, brightness, and Face ID.
True Tone and auto brightness functionality are disabled after a screen replacement, even when using an original Apple screen. Face ID
is also disabled unless the iPhone runs iOS 15.2 or newer. A new front
camera will break Face ID, portrait mode and cinematic mode.
A new battery will disable Battery Health. A rear camera will only give you a warning message. And lastly, replacing the logic board will trigger all of the previous penalties.
