iPhone Won’t Turn On? How to Troubleshoot

Before we get to the more comprehensive solutions to this problem, you may want to try the following basic checks to ensure your cables and hardware components are working correctly.

1. Check the Lightning Cable

The first thing you should check when your iPhone won't charge or turn on is the iPhone lightning cable. It is possible that the cable could be damaged. Try a different cable to see if that works. Make sure that you are using the original charging cable.

2. Check Charging Port

It is also possible that dust and debris could be lodged in the charging port preventing the device from charging. Using a small brush, gently clean the charging port to remove the debris to see of the device charges.

3. Check the Battery

If the iPhone still doesn’t turn on, it may have a dead battery. Replace the iPhone 11 battery with a partially charged one and then try turning it on again.

4. Diagnose iPhone Display

Check to see of the iPhone display may be damaged in some way. This can cause you to think that the iPhone is not charging when it is.

The device can also fail to charge or turn on if the screen is broken. If the device fell it is likely that the screen is broken.

If there is a problem with the inner LCD connection, the iPhone can also fail to turn on or charge.

5. Check logic board

If none of the above solutions does the trick, your iPhone logic board may be faulty and needs to be replaced. You can either replace the entire board, or attempt to diagnose and repair it using microsoldering techniques. That is a whole 'nother beast!

6. Put iPhone in DFU Mode

If you can access the device, you may want to put the device in DFU mode to help eliminate some of the bugs that could cause it to fail to charge. Here's how to put an iPhone in DFU mode.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone to Mac

Step 2: Hold down the power button and home button (or volume button if you have iPhone 8 and newer) for 5-10 seconds simultaneously

Step 3: After 10 seconds, release the power button but continue to hold the home/volume button for another 5 seconds

Step 4: If the screen stays black, then your iPhone is in DFU mode. Check if there is an alert in iTunes that the device was detected in recovery mode. To exit the DFU mode, force restart your iPhone.

You can also use to enter JC B-BOX DFU mode.

We hope the solutions above can help you fix an iPhone that won't turn. If there is the problem on the hardware, pick iPhone parts from China Phonefix shop and replace them.
