iPhone 11 - Replacing the screen

Step 1: Switching off the iPhone 11 and Loosening the iPhone 11 screen
Use a Pentalobe screwdriver (PL1) to open your iPhone 11. To remove the glued screen from the frame, heat the edge of the display with your hairdryer to about 60° C (140° F) degrees. Use the key ring on the suction cup to lift the display. At the same time, push the hard plastic plectrum between the case and display frame and press the case frame down.

Step 2: Disconnecting the display connectors and Loosening the earpiece
Remove the four screws that hold the earcup in the unit. Then fold the earcup over.

Step 3: Removing the sensor and earpiece flex cable and the bac
plate
The Flex cable of the earcup accommodates various sensors which are led through several openings of the display. For example, the proximity sensor is located directly under the earcup.

Step 4: Installing the back plate、the sensors and the earpiece
The back of the display is protected by a metal plate. You have to adopt this for the new display.

Step 5: Attaching a new frame sticker (optional)
First place the adhesive frame on one edge of the case. From there, you can apply it to the device bit by bit. Do not press the adhesive frame firmly until you are sure that it is in place. You can use the plastic spudger for this.

Step 6: Connecting the display
put the display unit back on the frame. To avoid overstretching the sensitive flexible cables, it is best to lean the screen against a stable object. Take care that your iPhone doesn't slip away during work.
Afterwards, you can plug the two display connectors and the earcup connector back together.

Step 7: Testing the iPhone 11
Check all the functions of your phone before you close it again, especially looking at the part you have replaced. Remember to also verify all other components: Are they still working as they did before the repair, for example, did you connect the display correctly?
